Makeup Products I Love - Lip Products

Although I'm no expert on beauty or makeup, I have still found things that work incredibly well for me and things that I will recommend to anyone who asks. Here is a list of things that I have used and have loved!
Lip Products
Treatment:

Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment - I use this because I have a fairly small mouth, and I often get the corners of my mouth cut by food. It leaves a gross looking cut and it typically stings. Blistex helps clear it up quickly and efficiently, and as much as I use it, there's still lots left! It also helps chapped lips too!
Lip Balms:

EOS Lip Balm - I looooove the variety of EOS you can get! I own three of them because of how well they work and how nice the different scent/flavours are! The packaging is so unique and pretty, and the product itself lasts so long! Very hydrating and very well made. I hope to eventually own every kind!
Smith's Rosebud Salve - This lip balm is a dream come true to me. It's a perfumed lip balm and the one I own smells like roses (one of my favourite scents and favourite flower!!!) VERY hydrating, lasts very long and you almost never have to reapply it. LOVE IT.
Maybelline Baby Lips - I adore Baby Lips. I love how many options there are and how hydrating they are! Dr. Rescue is my favourite because it helps my chapped lips a lot and keeps them hydrated. I will collect these forever.

Lip Lacquer:

Rimmel London Apocalips - I own two of these and I love them. The application is so nice and the colour pigment is incredible. They also last very long. I wish I had more of these!! I recommend them to everyone because there is a colour that will look amazing on everyone!

Lipstick:

Rimmel Lasting Finish - This is my go-to lipstick brand. I ADORE this brand so much, the best colour I have ever found for my skin tone is Airy Fairy. I've used up the whole thing and I've never done that for a lip product. It looks amazing with my skin tone and nothing else compares. I use it for every occasion.

Maybelline Color Sensational The Buffs - I love pale nude colours with my skin tone. Adore them. Maybelline's collection is the best one I have found and I always get compliments with them! The colour lasts and it stays amazing all day.

Lipliner:

Essence Lipliner - This is the only lipliner I've used that I've liked. The colour payoff is great and it lasts! Lots of colours available to go with a variety of lipsticks.

Makeup Products I Love - Eye Products

Although I'm no expert on beauty or makeup, I have still found things that work incredibly well for me and things that I will recommend to anyone who asks. Here is a list of things that I have used and have loved!
Eye Products
Eyeshadow:

Maybelline Color Tattoos - I SWEAR by these! You can apply them with your finger and it won't crease. The colours are very pigmented and there's a wide enough variation where you can use them daily with neutral colours or on special occasions with more dramatic colours. I use these every single day and I haven't even made a dent in it yet! They also work amazingly as an eyeshadow base!
NYC IndividualEyes - My boyfriend got me to buy the brown eyes pallet despite my hesitation and I'm glad he did! The illuminator is such a dream. It's shiny and it lasts and it blends so great. The colours are all very pigmented and they DO compliment your eye colour!
Eyeliner:

Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Gel Eyeliner - This is the first gel eyeliner I have ever used and i adore the application. It goes on so smoothly and is so easy to control to get a perfect cat eye. It's also very pigmented!
Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Liner - I've been using this product for a very long time and I always find myself going back to it! I love how easy it is to control and how dark it comes out. It lasts very long without smudging or fading.
L'Oreal Infallible Super Slim Liquid Liner - I use this liner whenever I don't want such harsh, thick eyeliner and it works perfectly. It can also create the harsh lines if that's what you would want! I love the handle and how easy it is to use.
Julep Kajal Eye Glider - I received this eyeliner in a mystery box and I must say it has been useful! I love how it's double-sided because the brown is great for my lower lash line and the black is great to fill in the top lash line! I've experienced slight smudging but nothing a Q-Tip can't fix!
Mascara:

Benefit They're Real - This is my dream mascara. This is everything I have ever wanted in a mascara! It really does make it look like you're wearing false lashes. It gives your lashes length and volume and it stays until you wash it off! It keeps a curl very well, too.
L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black - This mascara with They're Real creates a dreamteam! This gives crazy volume and makes your lashes super dark! Very dramatic and everything I love. The formula is a bit wet but it dries beautifully and also holds a curl.
L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions - This mascara is perfect for your bottom lashes. The brush is very slim and long so you can get a lot of coverage with one application. It lengthens your lower lashes and makes them look lovely!

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes - This mascara is great for everyday length and volume. Nothing too extreme, but it still looks like you're wearing mascara! I have gone through so many of these because they're so great for everyday use.

Makeup Products I Love - Face Products

Although I'm no expert on beauty or makeup, I have still found things that work incredibly well for me and things that I will recommend to anyone who asks. Here is a list of things that I have used and have loved!
Face Products
Primer:

Julep Black Canvas Mattifying Face Primer - This primer applies smoothly, and kind of thick, and it makes the foundation you put on matte like it says it should. I actually love this product because of how well it applies and works.
Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer - I used this because of all of the things it claims to do, and while I used it, my face felt so much better! It also made the foundation last long. I love the small size I got and will repurchase because of the feeling it gives my face.
Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base - I use this every time I use eyeshadow. It makes the colour last longer and apply nicer. You can not get better than this, especially with the price!
Foundation:

Revlon Colorstay 24hrs - This is the first foundation I used that has worked! It covers my blemishes and "spots" very, very well and it does last all day. It applies like a dream and blends fairly easily.
Maybelline Fit Me shine-free foundation - I LOVE the way this applies - no cream! Just a twist up, kind of like concealer. This is good for light coverage or in place of a concealer. I used all of mine up pretty quickly because I loved how it covered up my redness!
Concealer:

L'Oreal True Match super-blendable crayon concealer - After trying many concealers and never sticking to one, I decided to try the L'Oreal True Match because of the twist up factor. It covered up my dark circles wonderfully and any blemishes and dark spots that my foundation may have needed help with. I went through it very quickly and will purchase it again.
Powder:

Covergirl TruBlend Pressed Powder - This is the first powder I have ever used, because I used to think powders weren't necessary. I understand now! This powder sets my makeup and makes it look less "cakey"! Exactly what I needed. It also covers shine and oily skin.
Eyebrows:

Essence Eyebrow Designer - I use this to fill in my eyebrows and brush them out and it works wonderfully! So much better than using eyeshadow to fill them ;)

Julep Past & Present

Along with my new addiction to Julep Maven came curiosity of what they have previously released and what may not be available on their website. I discovered a lot of polishes they no longer carry that are stunning! I figured other people would like to see them as well, so I made a Pinterest dedicated to Julep’s past and present. Working on a growing list of all their polishes and polishes yet to come! Because of this list my collection has grown up to 125 Juleps in 6 months!
I will always be editing this and working on it when I discover new things to make it as complete as it can possibly be. Hope you enjoy, happy searching!

Julep Maven

In December I was browsing Facebook and came across Julep Maven. I was never a nail polish person before in my life – I only ever went to get my nails done by my best friend or by the salon near my house. Always black. When I came across the Julep ad, it was for the Nice and Naughty Mystery Box. It was only $19.00 for $100 worth of product! Mysteries are my weakness. Ever since that day I got suckered into Julep, and polish in general. I now have almost 200 polishes, 125 of them currently being Juleps. I would suggest Julep to anybody who is curious or loves polish because there are so many colours and finishes to choose from, you can get a monthly subscription box or you can order polishes just off the website, and although the price is high for polish, you can often get them in amazing sales! However they currently only ship to the U.S and Canada.
If you’re considering joining Julep’s monthly subscription, here is some information you may find useful. Your first box for the subscription will only cost you $2.99, for shipping. This is set so that you have a chance to try their products for “free” before committing! However – YOU WILL BE SUBSCRIBED.  If you sign up before the 18th of the month, you will be able to receive the next monthly box. If you sign up after, you can get the month after. The price monthly is $24.99, giving you the option to customize your box the way you’d like it, as opposed to choosing one of their pre-selected styles:
It Girl - You’re into cutting-edge colors and finishes that make a statement.  Three nail polishes in every box.

Classic With A Twist - You’re drawn to chic, elegant colors that pair well with any occasion. Two nail polishes & one full-size beauty product in every box

Boho Glam - You favor a mix of earthy tones and playful, vibrant colors.  Two nail polishes & one full-size beauty product in every box

Bombshell - You love bold, glam colors and anything that sparkles. Two nail polishes & one full-size beauty product in every box

Modern Beauty - You’re always first to try the latest, most innovative products.  Two full-size beauty products in every box
To select your colours, you go to the Julep website and click “My Account” at the top. The window opens on the 20th of every month (around 9:00EST) and closes on the 24th. You can look through your options and choose what you’d like. If you don’t like the colours that they released this month, here is the information on “skips”. You may hear people talking about getting grandmother’ed in to unlimited skips. That is because they signed up before December 18th, 2013. They are able to skip any month they choose. If you’re a new Maven, you can earn a skip once every six months, so twice a year. If you don’t have the money for it or as previously stated, don’t like the colours, call customer service at 1-877-651-3292 to talk about your options with someone there. Chances are they will skip for you! They bill you on the 27th of every month so if you don’t want a box make sure you call before then. It takes a while to ship, which is one major issue going on at the moment, but it WILL get to you. If you have a problem with a product you received, you were missing a product, or something broke, you can call them and they will replace it. You won’t have to send anything back, they’ll just send you a new one for free. They have also been known to accidentally send you multiple polishes or the wrong order and if you call them they will let you keep everything, AND send you the correct products. I have had nothing but good experiences with Julep’s customer service. The telephone lines can take forever to get through which is why it is ideal to call when they open.
Another great part of Julep is that when you take your box, you earn “Jules”. You earn Jules for Maven boxes, your Maven anniversary AND your birthday! If you save up your Jules, you can use them as money! 2000 Jules equals a free Maven box, 5,000 for a Polish Lovers Upgrade, 7,500 for an Ultimate Upgrade, 950 Jules for a polish from the previous month as an add on, and 750 for a polish from a month before that.
Earning Jules for Maven boxes:
-100 Jules when you join
-300 per Maven Box
-350 per MyMaven Box
-550 per Maven Luxe Box
-650 per Polish Lovers Upgrade
-1,000 per Ultimate Upgrade
-200 on your birthday (make sure you add your birthday to the website)
-500 for your anniversary month
Perks of being a Maven:
  1. First access to the new colours and products. You get to choose the new colours as soon as they’re released to the public!
  2. Customizing your box the way you want it.
  3. Free shipping for Mavens!
  4. Polishes are $14 for anyone, $11.20 for Mavens! Discount!
  5. Over $40 value in every box!
  6. If you get someone else to join under your referral, you get $15 credit!
  7. For every box you take you earn Jules, which can eventually be put towards purchases and counts as money!
  8. If you take your box you get access to the Secret Store – lots of discounted deals!
  9. All of their polishes are 5-free and vegan!
If you want to cancel your Maven subscription, you have to call. There is no way to cancel online. People have had issues cancelling and my suggestion if you have that is to try pressing a different number instead of “Cancel Subscription”, such as “Billing Inquiries”. Make sure you get the confirmation email from them.

I would most definitely recommend Julep if you love polish! The $2.99 to try doesn’t hurt! All of my experiences have been great and I will recommend this brand and company for as long as my good experiences last!
