Rainbow Honey Apple Peel

Hellooo!
Before work I got time to do a new mani, and what is more fall than Rainbow Honey's new colour Apple Peel?

These are pre-cleanup and my cuticles are AWFUL (any tips?) but I adore the formula and the colour is incredible! It dried super quick, it applied evenly and beautifully, and I will definitely use this again. That's two amazing reviews from me for Rainbow Honey! I need more!!!

Do you guys love Rainbow Honey as much as I do so far? What's your favourite colour?

Julep's Ariana

Hey!
I've been behind on manis, posting, and pretty much everything because of work. However, I did do a mani using Julep's Ariana! I was super excited because in the bottle it looks so gorgeous, but honestly it wasn't me. I didn't take better quality pictures but I took quite a few with my phone to try to see it in different lights.

For some reason, I just wasn't impressed. On top of that, the formula for me wasn't fantastic. It applied goopy, yet sheer. How? I don't know. I would recommend trying it to see how it looks in different lights for you!

If you have tried it, do you like it? How was it for you?

Dupes? Julep Kirby & Julep Jordan

Hey!
So one thing that is very common with nail polish is trying to find dupes. I am going to start trying to determine whether certain polishes are dupes or not!

For my first installment... Julep's Kirby vs Julep's Jordan!

Kirby: Silver jagged glitter top coat
Jordan: Full-coverage silver gunmetal multi-dimensional glitter

The descriptions are not too similar, but the polishes more-so.

(Kirby - Jordan)

Okay, so they aren't dupes. The main differences are that Jordan is more full coverage (I layered them both on), and that the glitter is different. Kirby's glitter is more like shards of glass while Jordan's is typical polish glitter. Similar? Yes. Dupes? Nope!

I think I prefer Kirby. I like the glitter shapes better! How about you?

September Julep Maven Box

Helloooooo
So I may have forgotten/not had time to post all of the October Maven colours. I can still do that, but yeah I haven't yet.

ANYWAY MORE IMPORTANTLY, I got my September box!!

Apparently I only took two pictures. Oh well! I got the Ultimate Upgrade and everything was correct buuuuuut instead of getting all four plush pouts, I got Almond Nude Creme x2, Cardinal Red and Aurora Pink. The lady on the phone was super nice and sent out Magenta Plum for me!

(phone picture for proof)

I also got 3 add ons (Ana, Padma & colour fan) so I got the beauty freebie! (Daria & Candace)

I'm very happy with my box, very happy with customer service and by the way the plush pouts smell like a vanilla cupcake! Mmmm :) I'll try to do a review on them when Magenta Plum arrives!

Maybelline Baby Lips Limited Edition Swatches & Review!

Hey!
I recently got two Limited Edition Baby Lips by Maybelline on clearance at Shoppers Drug Mart and I have been LOVING them, so I thought I'd attempt a review and swatches! Keep in mind I've never done this before so it may be horrid, but bear with me.

The first one is called Very Berry

It has pink and purple packaging, it differs from normal Baby Lips because the tube and the bottom part are two different colours, while regularly it's all the same.

There is quite a bit of product inside. The colour of the balm is a bright/deepISH pink (I'm not good with explaining colours, obviously). It smells SO amazing. It smells like sweet berries (shocking) (it wouldn't focus on the balm so aren't my pants cute)

It's quite pigmented on my hand, especially for a lip balm!

And that's how it is on the lips! (don't mind my bleh looking lips..) GREAT colour pay off!
It applies beautifully and feels SO moisturizing!

Next up is Rose Rush

This one has the same style of packaging as all Baby Lips and the same colour scheme of Very Berry. The tube colour is a light pink and the writing and twisty part are orange! (orange?)

The amount of lip balm is the same as Very Berry (obviously) but this one is orange. It has a very subtle scent, a little bit like roses. Kind of hard to describe.

This one was harder to photograph because the lighting in my bathroom is incredibly yellow, so I pulled up the picture I took for my haul post. The pigmentation is pretty good, not as good as Very Berry but that's because it's a softer colour.

Aaand here is the comparison between my bare lips and Rose Rush. I'm assuming it's the lighting but Rose Rush is much more red in person! It applies so nicely and it's instantly moisturizing.

Overall Review:

I LOVE these lip balms! They're better than all the other Baby Lips (aside from the Dr. Rescue ones) They have great colour pay off, they're moisturizing, they last a decent amount of time (obviously not like a lipstick) and I find their scents very pleasant. They were SO worth the money! Even if they weren't on clearance!

Would you recommend it? Yes!

Julep Mystery Box AND $10 Off Coupon Code!

Hey!
I log onto Facebook and see that someone has posted that Julep has a new mystery box! Aaaaaand, I totally fell for it.

Packed with $100+ worth of mystery nail polishes and beauty must-haves, this tempting box is quite a steal. And if you’re lucky, you might end up with even more loot…50 winners get all 12 birthstone polishes (including the three colors nobody’s seen) in a white lacquer jewelry box—a $216 value!
1 grand prize winner gets all that and a pair of gorgeous sapphire and diamond earrings. (1 ct tw)
ALL 12 BIRTHSTONES, EVEN THE ONES NO ONE HAS SEEN? UM, YES PLEASE!! My ears aren't pierced so I don't even care about the earrings but bring on the birthstones please (though I literally never win anything)

The price is $24.99, but currently a $10 off code is working - 10FORYOU
There are also 3 mystery add ons -

I ended up ordering a mystery box and Kam ($4.99 add on) and it came to $19.98!!

Are you getting it? Let me know!

Julep Janel

Hey!
I decided it was time for a new mani so I chose Julep's Janel. The formula was a littttttttle bit liquidy but it was so amazing to use. Probably the best paint job I have ever done. (that's not saying much) All of these pictures are pre-cleanup so no judgement accepted.

Overall I think the colour is gorgeous, the formula is incredible and it just looks very nice. I don't know how I feel about the colour with my skin tone but that doesn't take away from how gorgeous it is!

Would you recommend it? Yes! Go find this polish!

WOMM? Phobias!

Hello!
I have made the decision that I will have a category on my blog called "WOMM", which translates to - "What's On My Mind". I often get VERY strong feelings/opinions and feel like expressing them and since this is my only blog I will do it here.It will basically just be me rambling on and making very good points to explain myself. I will still be posting mainly beauty related things, WOMM will just come up randomly sometimes!

So I want to talk about phobias vs fears and how annoying it is when they get confused!

There are way too many times where people disregard phobias or label them as "stupid", "not THAT bad", etc. Phobias are NOT A JOKE. There is a huge difference between being afraid of something and having a phobia.

Comparing the two definitions, there are a few points to be made. Fear, "an unpleasant emotion" can be controlled and isn't "extreme" such as a phobia. (Though it can feel that way) Another thing is that phobias CAN sometimes be irrational. There are SO many phobias that it's ridiculous, some are irrational and some make a lot of sense, for example:

Irrational Phobias:
Bald people- Peladophobia.
Chins- Geniophobia.
Feathers or being tickled by feathers- Pteronophobia.
Garlic- Alliumphobia.
Handwriting- Graphophobia.
Moon- Selenophobia.
Mother-in-law- Pentheraphobia.

Rational Phobias:
Place: locked in an enclosed place- Cleithrophobia, Cleisiophobia, or Clithrophobia.
Rape- Virginitiphobia.
Smothered, being or choking- Pnigophobia or Pnigerophobia.
Stage fright- Topophobia.

List of Phobias found here

And here is where I'm a hypocrite. NO ONE can determine whether your phobia is "rational" or "irrational". There are an infinite number of reasons someone could develop ANY phobia and despite their phobia being or sounding "irrational", it does not discredit how it makes them feel. Phobias are real emotions that are uncontrollable.

Phobias differ from fears because if someone has a phobia of something, there is a high chance they can't control their emotions and they can't control their actions, while being afraid of something the possibility of being brave and conquering it is likely.

Here is why I feel pretty strongly on the subject. I have Arachnophobia, the phobia of spiders. I WAY TOO OFTEN get told that I can face a spider or "get over it" but I honestly can't. I always get compared to people and get told that, "everyone's afraid of spiders". I know spiders are a common fear, but when I see a spider I can't control myself. I panic, I shake, I cry, I scream, I can't go near it or kill it. I have nightmares about spiders. I think about spiders attacking me or being near me often. The thought of them makes me shiver. I cannot control this phobia and to be totally honest I do not care if everyone is afraid of them. Not everyone reacts or feels the way I do. I CAN'T get over it. It doesn't matter what size the spider is, I can't face them.

I also have a lot of fears. I'm afraid of elevators, confined spaces, being trapped, drowning, ghosts (though ghosts is up there with spiders), falling/heights, balloons popping, and basically anything life threatening. I usually only feel these if I'm in the situation of them occurring, and that's one huge difference between my fears and my phobia.

Phobias are not to be discredited or made fun of. They can be irrational to you but the feelings someone is having are real. Do what you can to help them instead of criticize them.

Sally Hansen Color Foil Yellow Gold

Hey,
I've been kinda MIA, been working a lot and got super tired from it. I did a mani which I feel is PERFECT for the summer to fall transition! Unfortunately I don't have any "high quality" pictures because it's already chipped and I honestly don't feel like redoing it.

Sally Hansen Yellow Gold Color Foil!

The instructions basically say to not use a base or top coat and apply two coats, and to reapply as needed. I did as instructed (besides reapplying) and I absolutely love it! It applied beautifully (a bit streaky but it evens out with another coat), you CAN see every mistake and every part of my peeling nails but I just can't help but love it. I was definitely right about it being perfect for summer to fall! I really want the other ones now!

Would you recommend it? Quite obviously yes, if you're okay with the comments I made.
